The Youth Classroom Job Readiness Specialists provides career services and employment opportunities for young adult participants age 18-24. The Job Readiness Specialist position is a member of the workforce team and works to ensure program participants are engaged and supported in career exploration; provides information regarding job search preparation including resumes, references, thank you letters, job application forms, interviewing skills, questions to expect with answers; handling difficult and trick questions, coaching regarding initial meetings, and personal appearance and preparation, life skills, financial literacy, workforce preparation, job placement activities and services. Performs case management services to promote continuity of youth service linkages to training resulting in earned certificates and certifications, provides Restorative Justice training, coordinates community service, promotes mentoring participation, facilitates community resources, assures maximum social integration, evaluates, facilitates and monitors services and student’s progress in relationship to established goals and objectives through the integration and delivery of services to support Agency operations by providing the coordination of Youth department services for participants. The Job Readiness Specialist requires formal education training in client services, sales and marketing.
