POSITION SUMMARY: The Job Development Trainer serves as a career advocate and liaison for and on behalf of participants and provides career services and employment opportunities for returning citizens and the young adult participants age 18-24. The Job Development position works closely with all ACER, RExO(Training to Work), Face Forward; and, Youth Careers program staff, employers, and community partners to ensure that clients receive referrals to prospective employers for employment consideration and placement identified through networking, job fairs, providing career information, determining job availability and salary information. The job development requires formal education training in client services, sales and marketing. Job Development Trainer position is a member of the workforce team and works to ensure program participants are engaged and supported in job placement activities and services, performs case management services to promote continuity of reentry services, facilitates community resources, assures maximum social integration, evaluates, facilitates and monitors services and clients’ progress in relationship to established goals and objectives through the integrating and delivery of workforce services to support Agency operations by providing the coordination of career placement services for participants.
Pre-Requisite: This position must secure Workforce Development Training and Certifications within 6 months of contract signing date or forfeit position. The agency pays for the training; but, requires that employee maintain employment no less than 1 year after receipt of certification; otherwise, employee will be responsible for reimbursing the agency for cost of training.
Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred), or a minimum of 3 years relevant prior work experience •Drug Free •Must have reliable transportation •Must have reliable cell phone •Must exhibit ability to work well with clients, coworkers, community partners. •Must be flexible to work evenings and weekends, as scheduled. •Requires excellent communication skills including written, verbal, interpersonal, decision-making, negotiation, mediation, active listening, presentations, organized, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. •Work well with others and demonstrate team work. •Possess culture awareness and sensitivity. •Requires daily data base data entry and timely and accurate reporting.
