Our Goal and Vision
“Our goal is to improve the health of mothers, children and in their families in the Pee Dee Region through sustained community driven collaborative services"
"A movement of communities in the Pee Dee area, racially unified, committed to working across systems: health, social, economic and educational, while promoting healthy families and relationships, ultimately healthier children.

Pee Dee Healthy Start is one of the 15 original federally-funded demonstration sites created in 1991 to reduce infant mortality. The organization was changed in Phase II of the federal initiative to Pee Dee Healthy Start, Inc. It is a 501 C3 nonprofit organization, and its services are free.
Pee Dee Healthy Start Outreach and Client Recruitment actively reach out into the Pee Dee region to recruit prenatal and interconceptional clients and their infants into a comprehensive system of care.
The CAN provides local, county and regional forums where consumers, providers and concerned volunteers can gather to collaborate regarding action to achieve the common goal of healthier birth outcomes.
